Swedish Massage

Considered by many to be the foundation of massage technique, Swedish Massage is characterized by long, flowing strokes and light to deep pressure. It has been proven to promote relaxation, relieve muscle tension, increase circulation, and provide general pain relief.

  • A Swedish massage can help with chronic pain in the back, neck, and shoulders.

  • It helps to relieve headaches and migraines due to its relaxing effect on tense muscles that are causing the pain.

  • The gentle pressure provided by a Swedish massage stimulates blood circulation which promotes better oxygen flow throughout your body. This increased circulation will allow your body to remove toxins and deliver nutrients more effectively.

  • A Swedish massage is a great way to relieve stress, anxiety, and tension from your life.

  • This type of massage also increases flexibility by using long gliding strokes that stretch muscle tissue while improving circulation for better cell repair throughout the entire body.

A regular Swedish massage will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and with increased energy levels!

Connective Tissue Massage

Connective tissue, or fascia, is the most widespread tissue in the body and creates a living web that connects every body part from head to toe. Connective Tissue Massage enlists 5 specially designed techniques to access the fascia and remove restrictions or blocks from the body.

  • Some of the benefits of Connective Tissue Massage include:

  • Reducing muscle tension

  • Improving circulation and range of motion

  • Alleviating chronic pain, including back pain and arthritis

  • Promoting healing after surgery. This can include scar removal for wounds that happen during surgery. Connective tissue massage also helps with overuse injuries like runner's knee or hamstring tightness.

  • Reducing the severity of pain from headaches, asthma attacks, chronic coughs and other conditions that cause discomfort.

  • Improving muscle function after surgery or injury by reducing scar tissue formation

  • Lengthening shortened muscles. Scarred tendons can also be softened with this type of massage. Muscles will have improved elasticity and joint range of motion through connective tissue work as well. This means you will experience less stiffness in your joints each day while improving posture over time.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

The body’s lymphatic system is a complex system of fluids that aids in supporting immunity and removing metabolic waste from the bloodstream. Manual Lymphatic Drainage employs gentle and stimulating strokes to support the lymphatic system and improve overall health and balance.

  • Improves immune system response.

  • Assists in removing toxins from the body.

  • Lowers stress levels.

  • Provides a feeling of wellbeing and calmness.

Some common conditions that may be helped by manual lymphatic drainage are allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, tension headaches, fibromyalgia, menopause symptoms and more.

The benefits for this type of massage therapy are that it does not use oils or lotions which would inhibit the natural flow of fluids through your tissues during treatment. The therapist will lightly touch you with their hands to provide gentle movement over your skin while they move up towards your heart. This encourages fluid circulation so wastes can be removed properly from cells and blood vessels, restoring the much-needed balance between fluid retention and fluid elimination.

After the treatment, you will notice a feeling of calmness and relaxation with an increased sense of well-being.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular massage is a specialized form of massage therapy. It involves the use of compression to release the trigger point in a muscle by applying pressure on the affected point with the fingers, knuckles or elbows.

Some of the benefits of Neuromuscular Therapy include:

  • Relief from migraines

  • Pain relief

  • Relaxation

  • Increased blood circulation to the muscles and joints

  • Improved range of motion in joint area being treated, leading to better posture and less cramping.

Neuromuscular therapy is beneficial for people who have suffered from chronic muscle tension or injury over long periods of time, as well as athletes looking for a post game workout recovery session. It can also be used with pregnant women during their pregnancy and labor process, helping them stay comfortable by relieving any aches that may occur due to hormones changing in their body.

Neuromuscular massage has been shown through research studies to help reduce stress hormone cortisol levels while increasing endorphins levels (feel good hormones). This type of massage therapy is also beneficial for people suffering from chronic pain, such as arthritis.

Craniosacral Massage

During Craniosacral massage, work is done on the skull, sacrum, and hips to release restrictions in the nervous system and promote relaxation and balance. Gentle pressure is applied to the connective tissue to alleviate pain and stress, improve overall function of the body, and decrease physical stress and mental fatigue. This massage is performed with the patient fully clothed.

Some of the benefits of Craniosacral Massage include:

  • Relief from TMJ pain

  • Easing of sinus infections

  • It can release tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back by balancing cranial bones.

  • Helps with digestion and elimination to relieve constipation or diarrhea.

  • Improves sleep quality by reducing stress-induced insomnia. Improves both mental clarity and physical stamina while promoting restful deep sleep cycles. Increases REM (Rapid Eye Movement) as well as slow wave periods of sleep, which is often reduced from chronic stress.

  • Promotes spinal health because it stimulates proper vertebrae alignment through gentle pressure on the sacrum along with work at the hip joints that helps support healthy posture for long-term benefits.

  • Provides a sense of balance between body, mind & spirit that improves emotional stability to reduce depression symptoms like feeling sluggish or moody.

  • Treats many types of chronic pain, such as headaches and arthritis. It can also help to reduce sciatica pains.

Craniosacral massage promotes a general feeling of well-being because it is relaxing and releases tension in the body (tension that can accumulate from long periods of sitting or repetitive motions) while stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system which reduces stress by slowing down heart rate, respiration, and other bodily functions. This allows relaxation for deep breathing before sleep or during meditation sessions to promote peace and calmness within oneself.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative massage in which the therapist administers suction to the skin using special cups. It is used for pain, inflammation, relaxation and to promote blood flow and well-being.

Some of the benefits of Cupping include:

  • Helps to break up adhesions and scar tissue that are a result of injury or chronic muscle tension.

  • Helps relieve pain, soreness, inflammation, and stiffness in muscles.

  • Increases blood circulation to the area being treated.

  • Reduces stress levels.

  • Increases flexibility in the muscle due to relief from tension.

  • Improves mental clarity by releasing endorphins which make you feel good.

This is especially helpful for people with respiratory problems like asthma since it relieves constriction of airways and promotes deep breathing.

Cupping therapy can be used as prevention for migraines too. It stimulates nerves under your skin so when these tissues become stiff from overuse or long-term poor posture, the nerves can send a signal to relax and lengthen, helping your muscles return to their natural shape.

Foot Massage

Your feet work hard all day, every day. A visit to a professional massage therapist can address the aches and pains that arise from the stresses and strains of life. A gentle foot massage is an excellent way to relax, improve circulation, stimulate muscles, reduce tension, and often relieve pain.

Some of the benefits of Foot Massage include:

  • Reduced swelling and edema.

  • Relaxation: A foot massage is a great way to relax. The soothing deep pressure from the hands gently coaxes muscles into relaxation, often producing an almost instant state of calm and tranquillity.

  • Increased circulation: One reason that many people enjoy regular visits to their massage therapist is because they find out feet are just one part of the body where increased blood flow can have amazing health benefits.

  • Reduce pain from injuries such as repetitive stress injury (RSI) which may be caused by sitting at computers for hours every day.

When you receive a professional foot massage, the therapist will use various techniques like pressing on reflex points or applying compression with her thumbs which encourages greater circulation throughout your entire system. You may notice improved circulation in your hands and face, better sleep quality or an improved sense of well-being.

Massaging the feet also provides benefits for other parts of the body. The soles of our feet are rich with nerve endings that send information to all areas of the brain including those responsible for muscle movement. Foot massage can help improve mobility by reducing stiffness and loss of flexibility.

Hot Stone Massage (COMING SOON)

When a hot stone massage is performed, smooth, flat heated stones are placed on certain parts of the body to alleviate pain and tension. The stones may be placed along the spine, along the stomach, on the chest, around the face, in the palms and on the feet. These treatments can help with back pain, insomnia, stress, and muscle tension.

Some of the benefits of Hot Stone Massage include:

  • Detoxification of the body

  • Decreased mental stress.

  • Increased circulation to sore and injured muscles

  • Helps with back pain and insomnia.

  • Decreases anxiety levels.

  • Reduced muscle tension and pain.

  • Boosted immune system function, which can help the body heal faster after an injury or illness.

Please note that a hot stone massage can be damaging for people who have sensitive skin or those on medication which increase sensitivity of their skin. The stones are usually heated between 120-140 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is not recommended for pregnant women either because there is not enough information available about how heat affects them during pregnancy as well as after childbirth. It is also best to avoid this type of treatment if you are recovering from surgery or an injury due to wound care needs. You should consult a doctor before getting any kind of massage therapy while taking certain medications like blood thinners.

It is important to be aware of these risks before getting a hot stone massage treatment so you can make sure it will work for your needs without any kind of negative side effects! For more information on how this type of massage therapy works or if you have any questions about benefits/risks, feel free to contact me anytime!

Body Reading

Body reading is a type of body language interpretation that allows the therapist to get a clear idea about the client's body language, posture, and muscle testing. The therapist will be able to study the client's body language and provide a customized treatment plan for the client on the day of the session.

Some of the benefits of Body Reading include:

  • It can help the therapist to better understand what a client needs and wants from their massage therapy session.

  • The treatment plan will be individualized for each client, so they get exactly what they need out of this type of therapeutic intervention.

  • Body reading is beneficial because it allows therapists to see how tense specific areas are to unblock them with bodywork techniques that target those tight muscles or pressure points on the back, head, shoulders, hips, or legs.

  • Body reading will also help the therapist to know what can cause stress for clients or trigger old injuries, which means that they have more information about their limitations before starting treatment, decreasing the risk for injury while giving you a fuller experience in general.

  • This type of therapy allows therapists to take all factors into account when working with someone from an assessment standpoint because it gives them insight as to where tension may be stored in the body without even needing any feedback on this topic from the client at all.

  • It provides additional data points to use during treatment sessions so that nothing is left out or overlooked.
